Cactus Patchers February 11, 2020 Meeting - Pinkalicious - Amy Totty from 'Bolts and More'

We have Thanksgiving behind us, as well as Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Catch Your Breath Sunday and Cyber Monday. Well, Cyber Monday is winding down…

November 2019 Meeting Reminder - Trunk Show with Beth Norris
Reminder- Cactus Patchers’ meeting this Tuesday, November 12 at the Pyle Center in Tempe at 6 PM (meeting starts at 6:30 PM). Claire will be our Master of Ceremonies and Diane D will provide our raffle basket.
We have a guest this month, Beth Norris will provide a trunk show and small hand projects.
Cactus Patchers’ is looking for a volunteer to be our Chatter Submitter. We can talk at the meeting on Tuesday. Could be as simple as writing a few bullet points or short statements about our current events, gathering a few photos of meeting, and submitting to the Chatter editors. Think on it. Less than an hour a month and you can help!

Tutti Frutti Summer Fun & Christmas in July Show-n-Tell - July 9, 2019
Wikipedia stuff: The United States of America (USA), commonly known as the United States (U.S. or US) or America, is a country comprising 50 states, a federal district, five major self-governing territories, and various possessions. This weekend we celebrate our 243rd anniversary of the act Declaring Independence from British rule. The declaration is a well-known statement on human rights, particularly its second sentence:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
In pursuit of happiness, I hope you have a wonderful Independence weekend. Continue the fun with the Cactus Patcher’s Tutti Frutti Summer Fun!
To cool off from the summer fun, bring Christmas / Winter quilts for show and tell, or your latest creation.
There are a few other items on the agenda: Pam will bring our raffle basket, we will discuss and vote on the 2019/2020 community service projects, Claire will talk about the Underwater Treasure Challenge, and don’t forget our door prize drawing.

June 11 Program Meeting
Hello!
If you haven’t heard, the forecast for Tuesday is 108 degrees. Before you groan, keep in mind we need the heat in order to get to the thunderstorms and rain… some of us like that action. (As long as the safety of the indoors is available.)
No monsoons are forecast for Tuesday, and we have a great evening planned at Cactus Patchers. Heidi Pridemore of The Whimsical Workshop will present, we have more Motley Bazaar items to sell, and we know you’ll bring some fun and inspirational show-n-tell items!

May 14, 2019 Meeting
Happy! It's finally time for our Small Quilt Exchange! Bring your small quilt wrapped and ready for some fun!
April financial reports were emailed to members... we were so successful with the Motley Bazaar we may not need a fundraiser for a while!
- Requirements: whatever makes you happy! to fit perimeter 48” to 96” and made this year.
- We ran out of time for show-n-tell last month due to the Motley Bazaar... therefore we are having a humdinger of a show-n-tell this month!
- Bring any from last month (if still in your possession)
- Bring new from this month!
- Bring your oldest UFO (if you dare!)
April financial reports were emailed to members... we were so successful with the Motley Bazaar we may not need a fundraiser for a while!

We dodged triple digits this week, and high winds created an enjoyable wind-chill factor requiring a long sleeve T-shirt! Of course, I know there are many of you who are waiting for the heat with great anticipation. Either way, I’m quite thankful we’re not in the path of the huge snowstorm hitting the upper mid-west.

Without doing any research on the heliacal rising of the star Sirius, I totally agree, except for mad dogs. Too bad there aren’t vaccinations for the rest of it!
Forget about the woes of summer and jog your creativity on Tuesday as we welcome Cristy Fincher of Purple Daisies Quilting! She will be presenting her Lecture/Trunk Show to Cactus Patchers on Tuesday, August 14, at 6:30pm. She may include a lesson on a technique and/or bring some products.

Cactus Patchers Sorbet Soirée - July 10, 2018
Come cool off at the Cactus Patchers Sorbet Soirée on Tuesday, July 10, 6:30pm at Pyle
Center! We will provide Sorbets and cookies; please bring your own drink.
We will introduce the new board, celebrate the outgoing board,
and all of you will provide some inspiration!
Besides sharing our “regular” awesome Show ‘n’ Tell projects, we
are asking that you bring holiday quilts and items. These can be any holiday, but
some of us need encouragement and motivation for Christmas, Halloween, Hanukkah,
and Thanksgiving. Besides getting our
minds going in that direction, maybe we’ll feel a little bit cooler!

NEW Program for Tues - June 12, 2018 - Nancy Parlova - Tessellations
BAD NEWS, GOOD NEWS, and OTHER NEWS.
Bad news: Due to health reasons, Cristy Fincher is unable to attend tomorrow night; we all wish her a speedy recovery.
GOOD NEWS! Cristy is working with Carlene to reschedule.
Other news: There will be a “how to” program on Tessellations presented by none other than Nancy P (me). For some of you it’s a refresher, but for many of you it’ll be a completely new experience!
For the Tessellation Experience, please bring:
- · An old crayon or inexpensive marker (friends can share)
- · Clear tape (friends can share)
- · Paper scissors (each person should probably have their own pair)
- · A small ruler (6”-ish) in case we get far enough to use one
Don't forget your show-n-tell items and money for the raffle basket!
