2nd Tues Meeting - 9/11/18

WE (You!) are the

September 11 program

Bring tips or skills you’d like to share!

How you organize your quilt area…

Demo a ruler…

Pictures of your quilting/crafting space…

Books, magazines, or patterns…

Where you store (or hide) your stash…

A simple thing to do or keep for your project(s)…

An idea you “snitched” from a friend…

Transporting your machine and/or supplies…

Binding styles…

There are many ideas in our heads that we never share because they seem so simple…

 IT’S TIME TO SHARE!

Sew Day!

On Tuesday, August 28, we can delight in knowing there are only four more days until September! Fall and Christmas decorations are hitting the stores in force, causing our internal quilt clocks to seriously evaluate what we can and cannot complete by a certain date.

If you’re working on the Black & White Row Challenge, that due date will be coming up before you know it!

Come sew with us from 3:00pm to 8:30pm (or any time therein). If you’re in town, I hope you’re in the neighborhood and can at least come by to say howdy!

Bring a project of your own, or sew for the Days for Girls project. Tall Nancy will bring DfG items.

See you Tuesday!

Don't miss this!

Straight from Wikipedia: “The dog days or dog days of summer are the hot, sultry days of summer. They were historically the period following the heliacal rising of the star Sirius, which Greek and Roman astrology connected with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, and bad luck. They are now taken to be the hottest, most uncomfortable part of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.”

Without doing any research on the heliacal rising of the star Sirius, I totally agree, except for mad dogs. Too bad there aren’t vaccinations for the rest of it!

Forget about the woes of summer and jog your creativity on Tuesday as we welcome Cristy Fincher of Purple Daisies Quilting! She will be presenting her Lecture/Trunk Show to Cactus Patchers on Tuesday, August 14, at 6:30pm. She may include a lesson on a technique and/or bring some products.

You can visit her web site at  https://purpledaisiesquilting.com

Cristy’s presentation will be approximately an hour, which will leave us plenty of time for Show-n-Tell and socializing!

We will have a raffle basket, so bring a few dollars!

REMINDER

We do not meet the 4th Tuesday in July.  See Scheduled Meetings for what's coming up.

Friday, July 6, 2018

Come cool off at the Cactus Patchers Sorbet Soirée on Tuesday, July 10, 6:30pm at Pyle Center! We will provide Sorbets and cookies; please bring your own drink.

We will introduce the new board, celebrate the outgoing board, and all of you will provide some inspiration!

Besides sharing our “regular” awesome Show ‘n’ Tell projects, we are asking that you bring holiday quilts and items. These can be any holiday, but some of us need encouragement and motivation for Christmas, Halloween, Hanukkah, and Thanksgiving.  Besides getting our minds going in that direction, maybe we’ll feel  a little bit cooler!

Our raffle basket this month will be provided by Pam G!

Hope to see any who are willing and able to brave the heat on Tuesday!

June 26 Sew Day

There are two seasons in the Phoenix metropolitan area: warm and blast furnace.

Take a foray through the misery of the late June blast furnace on Tuesday, the 26th to sew with some friends at Pyle Center! It's always somewhat cooler inside!

We have the meeting space from 3:00pm to 8:30pm and you’re welcome to come for the entire time, or just a part of it. Some people even drop in only for a few minutes, and that’s okay, too!

One really good thing about staying until after sundown is that your vehicle is at least a little cooler when you are ready to leave. And the air conditioner seems to be happier.

Bring a project of your own, or sew for the Days for Girls project. Tall Nancy will bring DfG items.

Hope to see you there!
