Friendship Sewing is Tuesday, May 28, 2019!

Wind down from the Memorial Day Weekend by stitchin' with some friends. What a nice way to make some headway on a project!

We are working this month on our own projects, one of which could be our newest challenge!

Also, be thinking about ideas for friendship (charity) sewing for the 2019-2020 Cactus Patchers year. We can continue with aprons and pillows for mastectomy patients and/or move on to another project. We will be continuing with Quilts of Valor for those of you who are interested. Ideas will be discussed at the July program meeting.

Don't forget to bring a jacket or fan, whichever meets your comfort needs!

Small Quilt Exchange May 14, 2019 and Friendship Sewing - April 23, 2019

Friendship Sewing is Tuesday! Sorry for the late reminder, but as they say, “Better late than never!”

We are working this month on our own projects or Days for Girls. Hopefully we’ll see some small quilts as our exchange is May 14! Information below.

4th Tuesday - Oct 23, 2018

October 4th Tuesday is already upon us and wonder of wonders - it feels like Fall!!!  Cool temps may not last, but oh what a treat.

For those participating in the Black & White Row Exchange - the exchange will happen on Tuesday.

Marilyn from Bag & Boob Babes visited Cactus Patchers on the 9th and gave us several simple apron projects to sew for ladies who have had mastectomies.  If you'd like to sew them, there will be a few on hand Tuesday.  And...  Tall Nancy will have Days for Girls sewing to work on for those that would like to help on this project.

As days are getting shorter and the holidays and/or quilt show deadlines are getting closer, feel free to bring your own projects to work on.

Whatever you decide to work on, we can't wait to see you Tuesday from 3pm - 8:30pm (or any time therein).

4th Tuesday Sew Day! - September 25, 2018

September is almost over and another Sew Day is upon us!  The holidays are right around the corner, so take advantage of quality time to sew on 9/25/18 from 3pm - 8:30pm.  Work on your own project or help Tall Nancy with our community service project - Days for Girls.

Sew Day! August 28, 2019

On Tuesday, August 28, we can delight in knowing there are only four more days until September! Fall and Christmas decorations are hitting the stores in force, causing our internal quilt clocks to seriously evaluate what we can and cannot complete by a certain date.

If you’re working on the Black & White Row Challenge, that due date will be coming up before you know it!

Come sew with us from 3:00pm to 8:30pm (or any time therein).

If you’re in town, I hope you’re in the neighborhood and can at least come by to say howdy!

Bring a project of your own, or sew for the Days for Girls project. Tall Nancy will bring DfG items.

June 26, 2018 - Sew Day

There are two seasons in the Phoenix metropolitan area: warm and blast furnace.

Take a foray through the misery of the late June blast furnace on Tuesday, the 26^th to sew with some friends at Pyle Center! It's always somewhat cooler inside!

We have the meeting space from 3:00pm to 8:30pm and you’re welcome to come for the entire time, or just a part of it. Some people even drop in only for a few minutes, and that’s okay, too!

One really good thing about staying until after sundown is that your vehicle is at least a little cooler when you are ready to leave. And the air conditioner seems to be happier. 

Bring a project of your own, or sew for the Days for Girls project. Tall Nancy will bring DfG items.

April 24, 2018 - Friendship Sewing

We're not plagued by April showers (darn), but extremely dry air won't keep us from having a fourth Tuesday sew day!

... you can help with Days for Girls sewing. There are bags to be made to hold the kits we worked on previously. All materials are provided, including polyester thread.

4th and last Tuesday of the month is next week!  Gather your supplies and join the fun.

Doors open 3p and we wrap up between 8 & 8:30.  If you can't come at 3 - no problem.  Pop in when you can.

Snow Day?! NOPE... January 23, 2018

It's a SEW DAY!!

We'll be working on our 'Days for Girls' project.
We need worker bees to sew & topstitch - if you have your own things to work on, this is a great time to make progress.

Then you're in luck....  since November's 4th Tuesday is "AFTER" Thanksgiving, the Sedona Room at the Pyle Center has been reserved from 3p - 8:30p.  Gather your supplies and join in the fun of making progress.

There will be an ironing station & table risers for the taller quilters.

4th Tuesday Sew Day -- August 22, 2017!!!

It's Official...  we've been able to schedule our usual room at the Pyle Center (Sedona Room) for a 4th Tuesday Sew Day.  Extended hours:  3p - 8:30p.  If you can't make it by 3, get there when you can.

No project to work on (which is not likely)?  No problem!  Just come and hang out.  Visitors are always welcome, so if you're new to the area or you're looking for a fun group to join, stop in for a visit.

News Flash - Introducing 4th Tuesday Sew Days!

The Cactus Patchers have voted to make our 4th Tuesday in May & June a 'Sew Day'.  Instead of meeting from 6:30p-8:30p, we have reserved the Sedona Room from 3p-8:30p.  This will allow more time to sew and not be rushed. 

Next week, Tuesday, May 23, have a late lunch or bring a brown bag dinner for yourself and plan to arrive at 3p.  If you can't make it til later, that's OK!  We'll break at around 6:30 for any announcements necessary.

There is no additional charge for Cactus Patchers and guests may join the 3p-8:30p sew-in for a fee of $5.

There will be a couple of ironing stations & extra extension cords, but bring what you're comfortable with for your sewing project.

We will be creating more fun & comradery Tues, so don't forget to pull together your project of choice to work on!  There's lots coming up:

• Make an apron (Our annual party on May 9 is a Tea Party; you'll need to wear your best Tea Party apron!)
• Work on a small quilt or project for the auction (also May 9)
• Work on umbrella blocks if you're exchanging (due April 25)
• Project of your choice
• None of the above -- just come and jabber!
